The Behringer RADAR is a compact and innovative Eurorack module designed to bring tactile, acoustic, and experimental sound generation directly into your modular synthesizer setup. Featuring both a built-in contact/pickup microphone and an external input, the RADAR allows you to convert physical taps, knocks, scratches, and ambient sounds into control voltages (CV), gates, and envelopes, making it an ideal tool for creative sound design, live performance, and experimental music production.
Key Features
- Contact and Pickup Microphone: The module’s sensitive pickup microphone captures a wide range of sonic pulses and impulse combs, enabling you to generate unique sounds by tapping, scratching, or interacting with the module’s surface.
- External Input: Connect external microphones, electro-acoustic instruments (such as guitars), or line-level signals for expanded sound sources.
- High-Gain Amplifier: Equipped with up to 50 dB of gain, the RADAR can handle a broad spectrum of input levels, from subtle acoustic waves to louder percussive hits.
- Gate and Envelope Generation: The module converts detected sounds into gate and envelope signals, which can be further shaped using adjustable sensitivity and timing controls.
- Real-Time Controls: Four front-panel controls and switches provide immediate access to critical parameters, including gate sensitivity, attack, and decay.
- LED Indicators: Three LEDs monitor input clipping, envelope follower level, and gate detector activity for visual feedback.
The Behringer RADAR is a versatile and user-friendly module that encourages creative exploration, whether you're generating rhythmic pulses, shaping envelopes, or capturing ambient sounds. Its compact size and robust build make it a perfect addition to any Eurorack system.
