The Vaonis Vespera II X-Edition is a limited collector’s edition smart telescope designed for automated deep-sky observation and astrophotography. It features a 50 mm apochromatic quadruplet optical system with an S-FPL52 lens element, 250 mm focal length, and f/5 aperture ratio. The imaging system uses a Sony IMX585 color sensor with 3840 x 2160 resolution (8.3 MP), 1/1.2" format, 2.9 µm pixels, and passive cooling. Native field of view is 2.5° x 1.4°, expandable to 4.33° x 2.43° with CovalENS, delivering up to 24 MP stacked output. Storage includes 25 GB internal memory, with JPEG 8-bit, FITS 16-bit, and TIFF 16-bit output formats. The mount is alt-azimuth with GoTo, worm-screw drive, bronze gear, spring preload, POM-C damping gear, manual clutch adjustment, and an integrated cast-iron counterweight. The one-piece cast aluminum chassis and black-anodized tube are engineered for vibration control and improved contrast. It includes a built-in hygrometer, smart thermal control with dew heater and humidity sensors, Dual Band filter compatibility, and Vaonis Singularity app support with features such as live stacking, dithering, and advanced processing.
