Cylindrical (straight) shank; shank diameter may be reduced to Ø13.0 mm. Surface is coated with an oxide layer (black oxide) to reduce friction, lower galling, and improve drilling efficiency. Conforms to DIN-338 standard. Suitable for general metal drilling applications including carbon steel, low-alloy steel and cast irons. Recommended use of coolant or cutting fluid (drilling emulsion, cutting oil, ester oil) to increase tool life.
