The ACS ACR1281U C1 DualBoost II is a dual interface smart card reader that supports both contact and contactless cards. It is designed for applications such as e-government, e-payment, healthcare, transportation, and access control. The device supports ISO 7816 and ISO 14443 standards and connects via USB 2.0 Full Speed with CCID and PC/SC compliance. Contactless operation runs at 13.56 MHz with data transfer up to 848 kbps and a reading distance of up to 50 mm depending on the tag or card. Contact card support includes ISO 7816 Class A/B/C cards, T=0 and T=1 protocols, memory cards, CAC and PIV. The reader includes one full-sized contact card slot and one SIM-sized SAM slot for secure module applications. It also features a built-in antenna, intelligent hybrid card detection, two user-controllable LEDs, a monotone buzzer, USB-powered 5V operation, RoHS compliance, and USB firmware upgradability.
